business owners considering solar energy. Below we've summarized
key program highlights:
- 30% Business Investment Tax Credit- This is a 30% tax credit based on the cost of the system.
- Accelerated Depreciation: The Federal Government allows for an accelerated 5 year depreciation of asset.
- SREC Income- Solar Renewable Energy Certificates are units of power that your solar system generates over the course of a year. SRECs are sold by NJ system owners to NJ Utilities. SREC generation has no bearing on your business's overall energy consumption. These credits represent a separate income stream to help you begin saving money immediely.
- Power Avoidance Savings- Every solar system brings with it a decrease in the amount of electricity your business purchases from your utility. Due to net-metering laws you will receive credit to your account the following month for any surplus power generated during the month prior.
